“I was fat, unfit, lethargic and struggling to keep up with my three energetic children not to mention my job. It was at this point that I decided that things were going to change so I took myself off to the gym to finally use that membership that I had being paying for all these years.With great enthusiasm, I hit the treadmill and began to build up my mileage. I did manage to improve my fitness levels which I suppose isn’t difficult when you are starting at zero and I did manage to lose a few pounds but after a few weeks the weight loss almost came to a standstill and with it my enthusiasm.

“…I've been a member of gyms before and the duration of my membership prior to cancelling would have been lucky to actually attend more than a handful of occasions. The first session at ART centrewas incredible, I couldn't walk properly for about 3 days and I ached in muscles I didn't know I had, but I'd loved every minute of it! This is no ordinary gym – No facebook apps on the machine & No TVs either. .There are no skinny girls in size 8 designer clothes looking down on you for being overweight - there are just women and men of all shapes, sizes and ages who want to help each other get fit and get healthy and achieve their personal goals.
The staff are all incredible - they are positive, encouraging and supportive. Yes they put you through your paces, and yes they push you to limits you never thought you'd get to, but they do it whilst taking into account your fitness level and any injuries or problems you may have. And while you're working out with the trainers and alongside the other members, you constantly hear your name being shouted in encouragement - not just from the trainers, but from the other members!”
